Properties: Olive oil is a nourishing and antioxidant-rich ingredient widely used in skincare for its deep moisturising and protective benefits. Properties: Caustic soda is a key ingredient in soap making, enabling the saponification process that transforms oils and fats into soap and glycerin. Packed with fatty acids, it helps to deeply hydrate, soften, and protect the skin by forming a barrier that locks in moisture. Naturally high in antioxidants like vitamin E, cocoa butter also supports skin elasticity and helps reduce the appearance of scars and stretch marks. Its smooth texture and subtle chocolate-like scent make it a luxurious addition.
Used In: All Kara Kawa soaps and Conditioner, and Shave Bars.

Properties: Distilled water is commonly used in soaps and lotions as the liquid base to dissolve lye or blend with other ingredients. Because it has been purified to remove minerals, impurities, and contaminants, it helps ensure consistent results and prevents unwanted reactions in formulations. In soap making, distilled water minimises the risk of discolouration, spots, or reduced shelf life. In lotions and creams, it provides a clean, stable base that supports product safety and quality.
